This first webinar will be held in English and will take place on May 13th, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (Paris time).
What do we really mean when we talk about “bias” in AI? And how can doctoral research help address it in practice?
In this webinar organised for the very first European doctoral day, two researchers working at the OnePoint Institute from complementary backgrounds explore bias from both the human and the technical sides: cognitive mechanisms that shape the design of AI systems, and algorithmic methods used to detect, explain, and mitigate harmful bias. The discussion will also show why bias is not only a scientific issue, but also an ethical, organizational, regulatory, and business one.
Designed for a broad audience, this conversation will illustrate how doctoral research can create concrete value beyond academia, and how different disciplines can jointly contribute to building more responsible AI.
